Summary: Ava Lee, Pang Fai, and Lau Lau are in the French Riviera for the eagerly anticipated Tiananmen debut at the Cannes Film Festival. The movie's producer, Chen, arranges a distribution agreement with a significant American company while the movie garners several accolades and critical acclaim. Chen decides to go to Los Angeles to find out why the movie isn't being released after several months pass with no communication from the Americans. Chen disappears while travelling from his home in Bangkok. When Ava is called in to look into the matter, she quickly discovers that Chen is being detained by the Thai Immigration Services at the request of the Chinese government, which is not pleased with the way the movie portrays the infamous tragedy at Tiananmen Square. The Chinese government is attempting to stop the movie's release and punish individuals who were involved in its production by using its rising influence and authority. Ava must find a way for Tiananmen to be released in order to safeguard her investment while also keeping her own role in the production of the movie a secret and making sure her friends are safe from harm. The stakes have never been higher and failure has never been more expensive, so it is a difficult balancing act<U+2014>possibly the hardest of her life.
