In his letter to Santa, Rollie, the penguin, asks to be able to fly through the air for Christmas. Santa grants his wish, when he picks Rollie up on Christmas eve to help deliver presents. When a sack of toys falls off the sleigh and into the ocean, Rollie dives in after and retrieves it. It is then that he learns that he can fly, but it is through the water and not the air.
